An Open Letter To Anyone Who Wants To Become A Writer
Write about your past so your audience can improve their future.
Let me tell you something that took me a long time to realize: The only way to become a better writer is by writing. It’s coming up with new ideas and telling them in a way that’s unique to you. Then, it’s typing one word after another until you create a masterpiece.
I often compare writing to planting a seed. Sure, you may not see results in the beginning, but little by little, you make progress and grow. Day by day, you show the world what you’re genuinely capable of achieving. It’s beautiful.
Maybe you’re like my past self. Perhaps you’re afraid of being vulnerable. For one reason or another, you’re frightened of what people may think or say when they read about your experiences. Look, it’s okay to be scared. It’s normal to feel nervous about what may or may not happen in the future. Don’t judge yourself.
But please remember that your past experiences can help other people. When you share a story about how you overcame a specific moment of adversity, it gives your audience a roadmap to do the same.
