I’m Afraid To Have Kids Because Of Climate Change
And many other millennials are facing the same problem
Since I was a little boy, my dream was always to have kids of my own. One day, I wanted to meet an amazing woman & to raise a family in the beautiful city of Toronto.
That was my idea of living a happy life.
But over the past few years, I’ve noticed an increasing amount of natural disasters happening throughout the entire globe. For example, wildfires in California & British Colombia have forced many people living nearby to evacuate their homes in fear of their lives.
Hurricanes in the Caribbean are becoming more common as the years go by, creating devastation in areas such as The Bahamas or Puerto Rico. Before the world recovers from one disaster, our attention quickly focuses on another somewhere else on the planet.
In my mind, I’m continually asking one question: How much worse is it going to get?
Sadly, the scientific consensus seems to suggest that the frequency of such events is only going to increase over time. Quoting an article from Scientific American:
