I've had the opportunity to work and travel for several years. The idea of sitting on the beach and doing nothing all day is definitely a pipe dream (unless you have a couple million bucks in your accounts).

But working and traveling at the same time? Or doing a job in another country? Super realistic.

Typically, I make sure my visas are in order and have clearance to do whatever I'm doing. Typically, that's accomplished via a Working Holiday Visa which I've used in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and a few others (valid for a few years). Then, I treat it like a 9-5 and work Monday-Fridays - and explore/sightsee on the weekends. Seems to be a good balance.

Great article!
