I've made this mistake a few times. I wrote an article which was of a pretty decent quality. But the points were already covered extensively by other people. So naturally, people were reluctant to accept it.

Now i've started developing my own style and including a lot more personal insights. Seems to work as I've doubled the size of my audience since I started doing that.
