Learning To Listen Will Make You A Better Person
It’s a skill that will improve every single one of your relationships.
It’s extremely difficult to strengthen a relationship.
At least, that’s what a lot of people seem to think. We often tell ourselves that we need to connect with our partner, family, and anyone else in our lives on a meaningful level. But for one reason or another, many people have absolutely no idea where to start.
If that’s something that’s crossed your mind, don’t worry; you’re not alone. In fact, I’ve found myself in the same position as you several times.
But I’ve learned that the best way to improve any relationship is by listening intently to what the other person has to say. Because when you take a genuine interest in their life, they’re much more likely to reciprocate. Like the author, Stephen Covey once wrote:
“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply.”
