Someday, You Are Going To Die

So try to enjoy every moment of life, while you still can

We’ve all heard the cliche that you’ll only live once. But sometimes, things are cliche for a reason. They’re true. Because like the Roman emperor, Marcus Aurelius once said:

“You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.”

I recently found it difficult to breathe. But yesterday, the problem got much worse. I was gasping for every breath of air. So, I was admitted to a local hospital in Calgary. The doctors tried to figure out what was wrong. And after a few hours, they diagnosed me with a collapsed lung.

While lying in my hospital bed, I could hear the stories of nearby patients who had come incredibly close to death at one point or another. They were mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters. Like me, they were ordinary people trying to live happy lives. But for one reason or another, illness or injury had struck. They couldn’t do much about their situation. The only thing they could do is pray for their condition to improve.

Nobody truly knows what will happen in the future. We might die in a car crash tomorrow. We could get hit by a bus next week. Or perhaps, we might live to the ripe old age of 100. The only thing that we know for certain is that someday, we…
