“Never make someone a priority when all you are to them is an option.” — Maya Angelou

What’s stopping you from loving yourself more?

Constantly comparing your life to others? Psychological trauma from your past? Surrounding yourself with negative people?

Sometimes you believe that you’re not good enough, unworthy, and ashamed of your past actions. All you can think about is the continual negativity lingering in your mind and the thought of being undeserving of any positive emotion.

You see, the loneliness epidemic is a big issue in society. According to a study by the US Department of Health & Human Services, 20 percent of Americans describe themselves as “lonely or socially isolated”.

This is a big problem.

There have been occasions where I’ve personally felt depressed, isolated, and unable to communicate with the world how I genuinely feel in a situation. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get myself out of the emotional turmoil that was the root cause of my unhappiness.

But life doesn’t have to be this way: there is a better path forward.
