Tim, I love and respect you. A lot. But I need to be honest and say this is a bad take.

There's a massive difference between feeling depressed and a clinical diagnosis of depression. This article may be useful for the former, sure. But for people actually suffering from mental illness, it's blind ignorance of reality.

In the future, it might be worth clarifying specifically who your article is aimed at. Because for anyone genuinely suffering from a mental illness, calling it "selfish" is just a massive slap in the face.

Keep writing and doing what you're doing. But next time you write an article about a sensitive topic such as mental health, it's worth running it by someone who's actually has a diagnosis to check it's not blind to reality...
